Social Cohesion and Reconciliation (SCORE) Index (Phase II)
Donor: United Nations Development Programme - Action for Cooperation and Trust (UNDP-ACT)
Implementing Party: SeeD
Dates: 16/01/2013 - 30/09/2013
During Phase II, the project operationalized the Social Cohesion and Reconciliation (SCORE) Index, by validating its assumptions in different contexts within and beyond Cyprus, and collecting data as part of a field testing exercise.
Cyprus was the first country where the SCORE Index was implemented. The initial SCORE data has been collected through a public opinion poll, media monitoring, and through in-depth interviews with civil society actors and political leadership. SeeD participated in the preparatory workshop for “Participatory Peacemaking Project” and provided a comprehensive presentation of the SCORE results, policy recommendations on the peace process, in order to dispel the myths and misconceptions of Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots about the ‘other’ community. In addition, SeeD worked closely with UNDP-ACT and provided input for the technical development of the interactive SCORE online platform (www.scoreforpeace.org).
